This album was recorded over 2.5 weeks, spawned after a frenzied

Rush of inspiration one night at the Milky Way House around the fireplace with a group

of mad incredible people (check front cover) belting and howling and painting on the wall. A sick passion for taking no prisoners when it comes to Christmas songs was discovered, which could not be stopped until this magic beast was born. Most songs were recorded in rooms of our houses, causing bikes to pile up in the hall. All songs were produced and mixed by CHonk— have you seen his shows yet??— A collaboration of Chonk, Jesika Allen, and Ryan Boone, plus friends, on Chonk’s recording equipment.

This is an older song that I’d never recorded before, which I excavated from the murky depths of my brain when I was in NYC, drinking whiskey with my friend Sarah. We did some cassette recordings of it with her sing harmonies (which I’m gonna digitize soon, and post here). This is a rough demo version I recorded last night. Enjoy.

Chonk and the Hooligans are playing this year’s ‘Taste for Artisans’ party @ Jack London Square in Oakland, sponsored by East Bay Express. The show is on Saturday, April 3 @ 10:00 pm.

We’re gonna be playing an unplugged set, straight jugband style, yo! Here is the tentative band-member line-up:
